When Caversham opened in 1989 there were two booksellers of note in the psychoanalysis / psychotherapy / psychiatry domain: Brunner/Mazel in Union Square in Manhattan, and H. Karnac Books, with two locations in London, England. Both became publishers; Brunner/Mazel closed their bookstore when the publishing division was sold to Taylor and Francis; Routledge in 2005 folded the Brunner/Routledge imprint along with the Psychology Press and Falmer into one strong Routledge imprint. |
