Steve de Shazer was co-founder and Senior Research Associate at BFTC , and was co-developer of the Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Model. He was the author of four ground-breaking books: Patterns of Brief Therapy, Keys to Solutions in Brief Therapy, Clues: Investigating Solutions in Brief Therapy, and Putting Difference to Work (W.W. Norton). His fifth book Words Were Originally Magic (W.W. Norton), brought his thinking to an even wider audience. He passed away September 11, 2005, in Vienna, Austria
