David Anderson of Clay and Paper Theatre
presented by
ISIS CANADA
David will speak about his recent work in Nairobi, Kenya, and compare the challenges and opportunities of working abroad in a different culture with those that come from working with Toronto's diverse population: "I would like to talk about some of the questions that were raised and surprising lessons learned during my recent trip to Nairobi. Although I was brought to Kenya to teach an International Baccalaureate drama class at the International School of Kenya, I had the good fortune to find some fascinating Kenyan puppeteers and drummers who see their art as a way of helping slum dwellers get out of the slums. They envision the teaching of puppeteering and drumming as a vocation that can propel their friends out of urban poverty and into a better life." read more at http://www.isis-canada.org/clay--paper-theatre.html
