Judith A. Rubin majored in Art at Wellesley College (1957), earned a masters' degree in Education at Harvard (1959), a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in Counseling (1976), and completed training in Adult (1980) and Child (1983) Analysis at the Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Institute. Beginning as an art teacher, she has been an art therapist for 44 years and has worked with individuals of all ages with a wide variety of conditions. She became a registered art therapist in 1970, a licensed psychologist in 1979, and a board-certified art therapist in 1994. She is on the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry, University of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Society & Institute.
