Facilitator: Lyndsey Davies, MSW, RSW
presented by SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health / Hincks-Dellcrest Institute

This Training is Suitable for: Clinicians who have some prior knowledge of basic DBT theory and skills and who are interested in furthering their ability to use DBT in individual therapy sessions.

Details:

Working with people with multiple, complex problems can lead to clinicians feeling discouraged and frustrated. Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment that offers a compassionate way of understanding and addressing the difficulties these, often high risk, clients experience.

In this experiential workshop, participants will learn how to conceptualize clients’ difficulties utilizing a DBT case formulation approach. They will also learn how to conduct both behavioural and solution analyses for problematic behaviours.

You will learn to:

Develop a DBT case formulation
Increase client motivation to work on problematic behaviours
Conduct a behavioural analysis and solution analysis of problematic behaviours
Get unstuck from poralizations with clients

This training is suitable for clinicians who have some prior knowledge of basic DBT theory and skills and who are interested in furthering their ability to use DBT in individual therapy sessions.
