Feeling up or Feeling Down? is a fun and imaginative game used to develop emotional literacy skills for students at risk of exclusion. It allows students to explore strategies for dealing with difficult situations at school and managing their uncomfortable feelings when they arise.
Question cards cover the five SEAL areas and include:
*Self-Awareness - How do I feel about school? What am I good at? What is my happiest childhood memory? How would people describe me?
*Managing Feelings - What makes me angry? How does feeling stressed affect me? Does music calm me down?
*Motivation - What does being resilient mean? Do bad reputations stick? What's my goal?
*Empathy - How do teachers feel? What can pupils do who are being bullied? How does having positive relationships help?
*Social skills - How do I know if someone is really listening to me? What does acting assertively mean?
