Meichenbaum has done it again! After self-publishing his mammoth tome on PTSD , he has compiled an enormous amount of research and practical knowledge this book on anger. Meichenbaum has very clearly adapted the basic CBT model for use with anger and aggression. Very easy to understand, this book is a good introduction for beginners in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Packed with information, this book is also an invaluable reference to more advanced practitioners as well. This book is designed to be used in a wide variety of settings - groups, couples, families, and front-line workers in general. He presents an overview of anger and aggression at the beginning and includes a large list of instruments (i.e. MMPI etc.) appropriate to assessing various kinds of anger and aggression. And just in case that wasn't enough, there's a 35 page bibliography! What else do you say? |
