INTEGRATING EXPERIENTIAL AND BRIEF THERAPY : How To Do Deep Therapy - Briefly, and How To Do Brief Therapy - Deeply: A tool-Book for Therapists and Counsellors

There is a newer edition of this title.

This is a thorough and clearly written tool-book for therapists and counsellors illustrating the integration of Experiential and Brief therapy. The author highlights the "integration spots" throughout showing very specifically how the two approaches can be woven together easily and seamlessly. Using Focusing Oriented and Solution Oriented Therapy as guidelines, the author demonstrates through clear teaching and specific case examples: How the models are similar, different and compatible; how to use the language of each model; which models work best when, and what to do when you don't know what to do. An excellent and wonderfully readable how-to book for making therapy both brief and deep.

Book Review
This user-friendly manual is nothing short of brilliant. Dr. Jaison's compelling clinical vignettes, taken from a wide variety of true to life examples, bring you right into her office. The book is filled with the wisdom of her experience in both Focusing and Solution Oriented approaches. It is the BEST clearest and most useful book on how to do therapy that I can remember. -- Joan Klagsbrun, Ph.D., Lesley College, MA.
