Choose Your Words introduces you to Nonviolent Communication (NVC), a powerful communication strategy that will transform your ability to connect to the person inside the mental illness. You'll learn how to use NVC to create mutually satisfying exchanges, heal painful interaction patterns, avoid language that triggers defensive reactions, and choose words that convey empathy and build trust. You'll also learn how to reclaim ownership of your own feelings and name your own needs: two critical steps toward relationships of greater honesty and deeper connection.
