Nearly 30 percent of Americans suffer from a mental health disorder. For those diagnosed with depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, or any number of other clinical conditions, adopting a consistent set of self-care practices helps them to live productive and rewarding lives, even in the face of the emotional upheaval these illnesses can bring. Many look for help and support to bring their thoughts and feelings back into equilibrium, and to regain a sense of balance not only physically, but mentally and spiritually.

With A Restful Mind, Mark Allen Zabawa offers the first book designed to provide inspiration and support specifically for people living with mental health problems. A year of daily readings address the common life issues that arise for those with mental health problems and help those dealing with a disorder start or end each day more at peace with themselves and the world. By focusing readers' thinking on positive, health-enhancing messages and presenting the kind of empathetic support that fellow contenders of emotional distress can offer, these meditations help readers achieve the mental rest and self-acceptance needed for a balanced, healthy mind and a peaceful life.
