Acting opposite to your emotions is an effective way to change emotions you want to change. In this 42-minute educational recording, two Deaf therapists work with an all-Deaf DBT Skills Group to teach the skill of Opposite Action. This video is an adaptation of "Opposite Action: Changing Emotions You Want to Change" by Dr. Marsha Linehan, developer of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Opposite Action is an Emotion Regulation skill in Linehan’s (1993) Skills Training Manual for Treating Borderline Personality Disorder.
