It begins with interviews and documents from Afro-Canadian communities in Nova Scotia, Canada, describing how a team of workers from different backgrounds can work in partnership to respond to men's violence. These pieces are followed by an interview with another Canadian who works with men who have enacted violence in intimate relationships. The journal then features papers on women's anger and violence and Women of Colour against violence.

The journal then changes course and features a paper on ways of understanding and responding to drug and alcohol 'addiction' with a paper from the Deconstructing Addiction League.
