Jean Gilliam DeGaetano (1932 - 2022) Speech Language Pathologist (M.A. Combined SLP/Learning Disabilities) specializing in Auditory Processing and Language Acquisition

While working as a speech-language pathologist in the school system, Jean began creating her own materials ranging from sound correction to developing language skills and vocabulary. Her primary area of interest was children with significant language delays. She found these children “blossomed” when pictures were used to explain new concepts or how things were used. Her workbooks include a picture for every lesson. Along with visual reinforcements, many of the workbooks address one goal at a time. Simple, easy-to-follow directions are provided for every lesson so the worksheets can be used by both professionals and parents. Lesson plans can easily be expanded as a student masters a skill. Higher-level workbooks introduce more than one goal but still follow a simple easy-to-follow pattern.
