Holding Difficult Conversations for Supervisors: An essential skill in a supervisor role

Facilitator: Marion Langford, M.Ed.
presented by SickKids CCMH Learning Institute

This training is suitable for: New supervisors, or those who hope to take over a supervisory position in the future. It is also well suited for experienced supervisors who would like to fine-tune their supervisory abilities in Health & Human Services.

Dr. Geary will start off by presenting what leadership is and how it differs from management. Participants will then examine the supervisor's role in leading and motivating employees through needs assessment tools and appropriate leadership style. The supervisor’s role in change management will also be covered. This is Learning Module 2 of the Certificate for New Supervisors. This module may be taken separately from the certificate program as a stand-alone workshop.

Location: SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health - Learning Institute, 114 Maitland Street, Toronto, ON, M4Y 1E1, 2nd Floor, Seminar Rooms ABC
