Are you familiar with the concept of compassion fatigue but not always sure how to manage your own burnout and work-related stress? Based on her extensive research and interviews with hundreds of helping professionals, Françoise Mathieu, author of The Compassion Fatigue Workbook and a national leader in compassion fatigue education, will give you practical insights into the challenges of learning to take care of yourself when you are far more used to taking care of others. You might know about compassion fatigue, but can you actually address it in your own life?
This workshop is for those who already have an understanding of compassion fatigue and who now want to take their knowledge to the next level. Françoise will provide you with techniques and strategies stemming from the most up-to-date evidence-based practices on how to cope with burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma. You will also learn to assess whether you are at risk and how to identify and marshal resources for resilience that are already at your disposal, as well as practical ways to incorporate self-care into day-to-day work life.
Françoise has over 20 years of experience in mental health, particularly in high-stress, high-trauma work environments. Over the past decade, she has travelled across North America, offering compassion fatigue and resiliency training workshops to helping professionals from all walks of life.
You will learn —
About the relationship between burnout, compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, and moral distress
How to assess your own vulnerability factors
What works: resiliency factors
How to develop a wellness plan at home and at work
