Mindfulness Titles on Display
In the presence of an ever expanding list of mindfulness titles, both professional and client-centred, we wanted to present a few recent releases from respected authors. From Shauna Shapiro's neuroscience backed self compassion program and Carolyn Welch's program for overwhelmed women, the breadth of the subject is clearly endless.
The professional applications aren't to be ignored either, so we're showcasing a few recent and perrenial favourites. For those resistant to mindfulness (children for example), practitioners have found that adding movement is helpful, as can other activities to keep clients engaged in the practices before them. Salmon's text Mindful Movement in Psychotherapy in particular is a fabulous resource for generally integrating mindful movement, and local author Timothy Gordon breaks down an amazing ACT proogram for kids, keeping them involved and invested in the skills they're learning. The rest of the list backs up these diverse applications!
