This workshop will help participants to:
• Learn an empirically validated model of presence
• Understand the neurophysiological benefits of therapeutic presence
• Experience drumming as a form of meditation
• Generate take home practices to cultivate presence
No previous drumming or meditation experience required.

Dr. Shari Geller is a Clinical Psychologist, author, and developer of the Therapeutic Rhythm and Mindfulness (TRMTM) Program. With over twenty years experience weaving psychology and mindfulness, Shari co-authored the book: Therapeutic Presence: A Mindful Approach to Effective Therapy. She has a private practice in Toronto and Grey County and is on the teaching faculty at York University and the University of Toronto.
Being fully in the moment is a powerful gift to offer. This workshop will use the Therapeutic Rhythm and Mindfulness (TRMTM) program to cultivate presence, a unique approach combining group drumming, mindfulness and emotion focused awareness. Rhythm modalities offer a fun and expressive way of increasing vitality and social connectedness. Mindfulness helps to enhance attention, focus, and present moment awareness.
Ideal for health care professionals, educators, parents and anyone interested in cultivating presence.
