Other Press explores the ideas and concepts that shape our understanding of human subjectivity. We offer an interdisciplinary and multicultural space where authors can explore psychic, cultural, historical, and literary shifts, and how they inform our vision of the world and of each other. We are committed to a dialectical exchange between disciplines, and publish essays and novels as well as scholarly texts. Other Press brings to an international audience a wide variety of books, both original and translated, on topics that are of interest to the academic world and to the educated reader. We concentrate in particular on recent developments in psychoanalytic theory, cultural studies, anthropology, women's studies, queer theory, linguistics, and neuroscience. We have a British subsidiary, Karnac Books , and a literary imprint, Handsel Books, as well as a number of ongoing book series, among them a Cultural Studies series edited by Samir Dayal and the first and only series in the United States devoted to the study of Lacan's psychoanalytic theory and its clinical implications, the Lacanian Clinical Field series. They also print and distribute several journals, including the venerable Psychoanalytic Quarterly, and the two-year-old Journal of Infant, Child, and Adolescent Psychotherapy (JICAP). --- from the publisher |
