All of the Sound Possibilities CDs and cassettes have been scripted and narrated by either Susan Dafoe-Abbey, BIS., MEd., or David Abbey, PhD. We are both Registered Marriage and Family Therapists and Clinical Members of the American (and Ontario) Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
Susan was originally trained as a gerontologist and health educator and in recent years has developed her interests and private practice to serve clients of all ages. She has a particular interest in helping children to cope with trauma, grief and loss. As well as her Masters Degree in Counselling and a research doctorate in family therapy her training includes a Certificate in Contextual Family Therapy; and training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Brain Gym (educational kinesiology).
David is a Registered Psychologist with a long-standing interest in hypnosis, the management of chronic pain and ways of reducing the effects of trauma. Like Susan, he has post-graduate training in Contextual Family Therapy, EMDR and gerontology. He is also an Approved Supervisor with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
