This is an ongoing study group in which different topics relevant to the assessments and treatments of patients of these ages are presented in a planned way by members of the group. They use the material of individual case experiences, supplemented by suggested readings. The group is open to anyone practising or interested in this work who can commit to attending regularly such that the group itself develops increasing support and sophistication in its work together. It is available to distance learners simultaneously through electronic means.
Become familiar with the various methods, sources and practices of referrals for the treatments of these age groups.
Learn about the various practice arrangements that can support or interfere with the work with these patients.
Learn about the various approaches to and possibilities for working with the parents or families of these age-groups.
Identify differences in presentation and treatment goals associated with different cultural groups of patients and their families.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits for psychiatrists, as accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and for family physicians from the College of Family Physicians, are available. As per the Royal College standard, each presentation provides a minimum of 25% interactive learning.
