Bo Yih Thom and J McKnight
presented by WomanACT

Broken up into three parts:

Day 1, Monday March 5 - 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
CAS/VAW Advisory Committee Annual Forum
Each year, this Forum is prepared and developed by members of the Children Aid Societies (CAS) and Violence Against Women (VAW) Advisory Committee in Toronto.

This Forum ensures that the VAW and CAS sectors continue to work together for:
increased networking, problem solving and service cohesion.

Invitations to register for this year’s forum, titled Building Bridges Together: Child Welfare and VAW; Supporting Women with Precarious Status will be sent in February.

Day 2 & 3, Tuesday and Wednesday March 6 & 7 - 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Supporting Survivors by Supporting Staff, 2-Day Training
SSxSS is a 2-day, MCSS funded, training event for front-line workers in the Violence Against Women sector. Each day there are panel discussions, speaker presentations and interactive training workshops where sector experts discuss powerful and practical ideas on key issues facing this sector.

Conference attendees provide advocate and/or counselling services to women and children who have suffered abuse.

Invitations to register will be sent to MCSS funded, VAW agencies in February.

Day 3, Thursday Evening March 8 - 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm
WomanACT's Soul of a Warrior Awards Gala
The WomanACT Soul of a Warrior Awards is presented to exceptional front-line workers in the Violence Against Women sector in the GTA. Recipients play an important role supporting women and children who have experienced violence. Roles vary from intake workers, counsellors, children’s advocates, family support workers, legal support workers and beyond. On any given day, these roles require thoughtfulness, compassion and dedication in order to provide the support and resources necessary.
