Advanced Clinical Skills Development and Practices for Working with Trauma: Level 2 trauma certificate

February 25 and 26, March 2, 3, 4, 2020

This training is suitable for: Mental Health Professionals: psychotherapists, counsellors, psychologists, social workers, experienced front-line workers (nurses, clergy, residential workers) who provide services to vulnerable populations.

Pre-requisite: Certificate in Trauma Counselling for Front-Line Workers Level 1

This Level 2 Trauma Certificate will present a theoretical framework of evidence-based and best practice approaches for working individuals who have been implicated by trauma. Participants will explore the neurological and physiological effects of trauma on the brain and body along with the impacts of trauma on emotions and emotional dysregulation. Mr. Robertson will address countertransference, which can be triggered working with this vulnerable population. This training will cover the clinical steps including intake, screening, assessing, ground strategies and tool kits, case conceptualization formulation, and the application of CBT for flashback management reprocessing.
