This facilitated 1-hour knowledge sharing program is designed to help participants understand how OAMHP’s Code of Ethics is applied in real-life situations. This session will focus on a case study that raises issues in the context of child and family therapy. Registration is limited to 15 participants The OAMHP’s Knowledge Exchange sessions are one-hour small-group facilitated discussions on topics of relevance to all mental health professionals. It’s one thing to have read the necessary regulatory documents and the OAMHP’s Standards of Practice; it’s another to encounter a tricky ethical quandary or supervisory issue in your own work. Talking through real-life examples in a safe space with your peers and trained facilitators can help prepare you to meet these challenges with confidence. Each Knowledge Exchange session starts with a Case Study that illustrates a problem that can arise in practice. Using this story as a jumping-off point, participants dissect the questions and issues it raises, and consider what the best courses of action in such a situation would be. An OAMHP Knowledge Exchange session will let you • Participate in a safe, confidential discussion where you can ask questions and share your experiences freely (groups are small, and sessions are not recorded) • Work with a trained facilitator who will guide the conversation, keep it on track, and provide relevant information about applicable regulations and resources • Find connection, support, and interaction with your community of practice • Return to your workday refreshed and inspired, after just 1 hour of time away • These discussions are for mental health professionals in any stage of their career. Everyone has something to offer and to learn!
