presented by tps&i

Wednesday, December 8, 2021: 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
TPS Scientific Meeting: Open to IPA Members, TIP Candidates, and ATPPP Trainees Only

** Preregistration is required ** DISTANCE PARTICIPATION ONLY ** – This course will be conducted online. Email [email protected] to rsvp. Registration deadline is one week prior to the meeting.

Were your psychoanalytic supervisions the crux of your psychoanalytic education? Or a prison, counting the days to be realized?

Of course, there are in-betweens.

We will continue exploring the initial phase of a psychoanalytic supervision with detailed clinical material. This phase is rarely discussed in the literature.

Recognized analysts from all persuasions when recalling their experiences after graduation stated that they were still “floundering”. You will have the opportunity to discuss your experiences. I will also present briefly an example on the learning and teaching of Dreams during psychoanalytic supervision.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this presentation participants will be able to:

• Learn about the needs and struggles of the candidate during the initial phase of psychoanalytic supervision.
• Learn from each other by comparing our experiences during supervisions.
