Live webinar May 30 and June 1, 2022 | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST Schema therapy is an effective way to support clients who have a history of trauma, attachment, and personality disorders. This model evolved from cognitive behavioural therapy in combination with various psychotherapeutic approaches. Compared to cognitive therapies, schema therapy has a greater emotional focus on exploring childhood and adolescent origins of psychological problems. These current re-enacted problems are integrated into cognitive information processing. They have become part of the personality structure creating patterning thought and behaviours known as schemas. Participants of this webinar will learn to use this model to assist their clients to alter their coping reactions to schema activations; become mindfully aware and disengage from unhelpful patterns of relating to past experience to strive; and build and enhance the healthy well-balanced adult self. This two-day training with Ian Robertson will examine: • schema therapy, its origins, domains, and effective techniques • maladaptive coping modes and the neurobiology of maladaptive schemas • four schema modes, schema therapy assumptions and outline schema mode mapping and monitoring • altering behavioural patterns of the child, inner critic, and coping modes • the role of chair work in schema therapy • analyze imagery experiential strategies and behavioural experiments • reparent the self along with gentle empathic confrontation Registration fee: $500 ($450 with promo code CAVERSHAM) Learn More About the Facilitator:
