Explore shame, pride, and relational trauma in this learning series with US-based Ken Benau, Ph.D. "Pro-being pride is defined as, “I delight in being me, delighting in you delighting in being yourself, with me” (self with other); and “I delight in being me, delighting in me delighting in being myself, with me” (self with self). " - Ken Benau, PhD Shame is basic to being human, reflecting explicit and implicit judgments of self, other, and relationship. So, too, is pride, although it has rarely been discussed in the psychotherapy literature. This series will demonstrate the centrality of shame and pride in psychotherapy with survivors of relational trauma, including abuse, neglect, and attachment wounds.
