*postponed* Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Part 1: An introduction to essential components

Facilitator: Lyndsey Davies, MSW., RSW.
presented by SickKids CCMH Learning Institute

In light of public health information on COVID-19, this event has been postponed until further notice. All trainees currently registered for this event will be contacted via email with more details. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to keep our trainees, facilitators, visitors and staff safe.

This training is suitable for: Educators, mental health professionals, medical professionals, social workers and direct service workers.

This two-day workshop will present the theoretical underpinnings of DBT, the group and individual components, along with DBT skills from each of the four modules. Through the use of interactive lecture and experiential exercises, participants will learn how to conceptualize borderline personality disorder using the bio-social theory, the components of standard DBT, how to conduct a behavioural analysis and solution analysis of problematic behaviours, how to balance validation and change strategies and how to teach select DBT skills to clients.
