A revision of the classic 1981 edition--Sexual Violence: The Unmentionable Sin--which includes Marie Fortune's insights derived from a career of working against sexual violence in all its forms.

With sexual violence no longer the "unmentionable" sin it was 20 years ago, and with much progress having been made in the ways we respond to sexual violence, this new book continues to call religious leaders' and caregivers' attention to this pervasive constellation of problems.

Reviews in the Media

Nantawan Boonprasat Lewis, Metropolitan State University, Minnesota

"Written in a passionate but consciousness provoking way, Fortune remains one of the most thoughtful and justice-making voices to end sexual and domestic violence in society. Twenty-one years later, Sexual Violence is still a 'must' read and a pioneering work that is a prophetic and most challenging book in the field."

Carol J. Adams, author of WOMAN-BATTERING

"Fortune's book is hopeful, helpful, and still needed. Insistent in its prophecy, inclusive in its solutions, faithful in its presentations--a book that helped create the foundation for a field of study, now revised, helps to transform it."
