Disclaimer:

This handbook should not be used without the assessment and direction of a certified OEI therapist. These techniques may seem simple, and may be very effective for you. In contrast, they may cause negative, intense or unpredictable responses in others. Since you do not know the full range of such reactions, or the procedures necessary to alleviate or prevent them, it is not safe for you to use these techniques with others. Sometimes your therapist will provide direction and supervision that includes application to family members (spouses, children, parents). This must be at the discretion and with the guidance of your certified OEI therapist.
