Time to Be is a gentle story about the individual nature of healing and hope. A young squirrel deals with the feelings brought on by a change in his life. As the world goes on around him, he honors his feelings and begins to rediscover himself and the world he once loved. A sense of playfulness, touches of humor, and tender illustrations bring light to the story and engage readers and listeners. Questions and suggestions provided at the back of the book are options that would be of particular value to families, teachers, and professionals as they help children cope with difficult situations. The book concludes with a letter to children and grown-ups.

Ages 5 and up.
