Previously, David has worked in local authority social work, in the fields of disability and child protection, as a social worker, manager and most recently as Principal Child and Family Social Worker for a London borough. David's research interests include attachment theory, child protection and the use of theoretical and research-informed knowledge in practice. David has written several books, book chapters, articles and professional guides on topics including child abuse and neglect, critical analysis, care planning, disorganized attachment and direct work with children.
