Taking a unique perspective, this book argues for a psychosocial approach to dual diagnosis and draws on this to highlight practice skills with specific groups including individuals, families and communities. About the Authors: Darren Hill is a Principal Lecturer at Leeds Beckett University, he is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a registered Social Worker. Darren has worked at Leeds Beckett since 2008, prior to working in higher education Darren worked within community drug treatment services for Barca-Leeds/NHS PCT, Darren still acts as a Director – Trustee of Barca-Leeds. Darren has recently submitted his PhD, his research interests include: drug and alcohol policy, parental substance use, mental health and the impact of neo-liberal economic models on health and social care service provision. William J Penson is currently a PhD student at UCLAN, a mental health trainer with the UK charity Commuinty Links (Northern), and associate lecturer at the University of Bradford and Sheffield Hallam University, a freelance trainer and consultant. He was in mental health practice for 11 years and a senior lecturer at Leeds Beckett University for 9 years. He is currently researching postcolonial perspectives on disability and mental health. Divine Charura is a Senior Lecturer at Leeds Beckett University in Counselling and Psychotherapy. He works as a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist within the NHS, the voluntary sector and as a Consultant in private practice. Divine is also a supervisor who offers supervision to trainees and experienced psychotherapists. As an independent trainer Divine has facilitated many workshops and presented key note lectures at different conferences and training events nationally. He has contributed various published books and Chapters. In his spare time Divine is a keen saxophone and guitar player and is also a lover of, art, music and photography.
