Reviews

"A valuable resource for specialists."-Curriculum Connections (Spring 2005)

"Reviewing the breadth and depth of assessments for early literacy, this book is an important contribution. It is clear, readable, and thorough, and will be an extremely valuable resource for teachers, reading specialists, school psychologists, and others involved in assessing children's early reading and writing. The emphasis on scientifically based research will make the volume particularly useful for school professionals meeting the challenges of No Child Left Behind. As a researcher, I gained much useful information as well as tools to apply in my work. As a professor, I will make this book available to my students and would recommend it as a text for graduate-level courses in reading assessment."-Diane E. Beals, EdD, School of Education, University of Tulsa
