Beginning with the most fundamental human needs that include a sense of self, communication with the outside world, and the development of libido, this discourse sets forth a methodology for creating a society with the fulfillment of these human needs as its primary tenet. Employing a unique combination of psychoanalytic insight and political foresight, this work suggests that humankind is no longer in charge of its destiny. Citing examples such as society's desire for peace and its simultaneous engagement in wars, this analysis relates the unconscious processes of the mind to the pathologies of societies and subsequently outlines a blueprint for a more sane society. --- from the publisher |
