This is a practitioner manual for the Take Action Program — a user-friendly cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) program designed for psychologists and school counselors trained in CBT who work with anxious children. Take Action teaches children aged 4-12 years helpful ways to cope with and manage anxiety. It is an evidence-based intervention combining recent advances in the cognitive-neuroscience of child anxiety with CBT and designed for easy use by mental health and educational professionals trained in CBT.
This practitioner guide uses an easy-to-read standardized layout of content to guide you through the steps covered in each module. It includes an assessment phase for those practitioners wanting to use pre or post intervention outcome measures. The six treatment modules can be used sequentially across eight or ten weeks to provide a group or individual intervention or the modules can be used as stand-alone guides to teach specific skills.
It is designed to be used with Take Action Child Handout Workbook (ISBN 9781922112781), and Take Action Parent Handout Workbook (ISBN 9781922112298).
