Redecision Therapy was the brainchild of Bob and Mary Goulding. Dissatisfied with the psychoanalytically oriented therapies, they built on their experience with Transactional Analysis by adding the experiential therapies (Gestalt Therapy and Psychodrama) that were gaining traction at that time. They presented their approach at numerous conferences and to a wide variety of professional audiences. In 1985 they organized a conference at Asilomar in Monterey California. The Proceedings of the 1985 Asilomar Conference, Redecision Therapy: Expanded Perspectives was published at the end of 1985. This book showcases the state of Redecision Therapy almost 25 years later.
