Jack and Marilyn chronicle the four-year journey they have taken in struggling with a life-threatening chronic illness. Viewers can bear witness to the turning points in that journey: minimizing the influence of panic, renegotiating who is responsible for what, discovering, "Wow, I have a choice!" and reaching an "acceptance point." During the interview, the couple discovers that Jack has become a stronger and more colorful person than either of them has previously realized.
