Dr. Colin Shapiro BSc (Hon), MBBCh, PhD, MRC Psych, FRCP(C) has been involved in sleep research for over twenty five years. He is the Director of the Neuropsychiatry Program at the Toronto Western Hospital and the Director of the Sleep and Alertness Clinic. He has recently taken on a role of research development at the Youthdale Treatment Center. For the last two decades he was the senior editor of the Journal of Psychosomatic Research. Four years ago he opened the first independent Child and Adolescent Sleep Clinic in Canada. He has over 300 publications in this field and has published over a dozen books.

Dr. Sharon Ann-Marie Chung, PhD, is a staff scientist at the Sleep Research Unit at the Toronto Western
Hospital, University Health Network and a Researcher at the Youthdale Child and Adolescent Treatment Centres. She obtained her Doctorate Degree in Physiology from the University in Toronto and did her Post-Doctoral training in Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Chung has been conducting research for over 20 years. Dr. Chung joined the University Health Network in 1995 immediately after completing her Post-Doctoral studies and began working in the field of Clinical Sleep Research.

Dora Zalai completed her medical degree at the Semmelweis University, Hungary and earned her post graduate Diploma in Psychology in the UK. She is a counsellor at the Sleep and Alertness Clinic, Toronto and also manages the behavioural and psychotherapy programs at Sleep and Alertness Clinic. She is committed to develop, provide, and manage the non-medication treatment of sleep problems and daytime fatigue and to increase the quality of life of, and provide psychological support to people suffering from sleep difficulties and fatigue.

Dr. Sanjive Jain is a family physician with a longstanding practice in Oshawa, Ontario. He returned to the University of Toronto in 2009 for further training and specialization in Sleep medicine and is nearing completion of his fellowship. Dr. Jain has developed a unique and novel form of mindfulness based meditation targeting the physiological hyperarousal often associated with Insomnia. This intervention has shown promising clinical results and will be formally evaluated in a research setting.
