In today's society, problems with extreme clutter are commonly referred to as 'hoarding' and are perceived to be self-inflicted and easy to correct — 'just get rid of it!' As you will read in this book, the problem is much more complext and prevalent. The name for the book, "Hoardiculture", a simple play on words, seemed not only obvious but quite appropriate. The Collins English Dictionary defines 'culture' as a 'state of manners, taste, and intellectual developemnt at a time or place'. It is the lifestyle of many. While not the chosen way of life for most, those whose 'culture' it is to 'hoard' do represent a notable protion of the general, adult population. The book is comprised of three sections: the first is a character blended from all of our clients into one person we have named 'Laura'; the second is information to provide you with a better understanding, explanations and examples of extreme clutter; and the third is a sixty-day motivational calendar featuring organizational and inspirational messages to help guide you to a better quality of life. |
