How are you feeling today? Children experience all kinds of feelings in a single day, but they can’t always name them or talk about them easily. This book is part of an essential series that focuses on the six major emotions experienced by very young children. Each book uses non-gendered characters to illustrate, identify and talk about a single feeling, suggesting coping strategies where relevant. Perfect for developing empathy, resilience and a positive sense of self. With thanks to Dr Kathryn Lester, Senior Lecturer in Developmental Psychology at the University of Sussex, for her invaluable advice during the making of this series. Paula Bowles grew up in a house full of animals, and spent much of her time drawing and making comics with her brother. Having discovered she could actually do drawing as a job, she studied illustration at Falmouth College of Arts, graduating in 2005. She now lives and works as a freelance illustrator in Bristol, UK. Paula has illustrated books for publishers like Bloomsbury, The National Trust and Random House. She loves drawing cute, funny characters and writing her own stories too. When she’s not illustrating or writing, she likes swing dancing, cycling and playing the piano. Child's Play is more than just a publishing programme, it is a philosophy. We understand that a child's early years are more important than any other and this is when they learn the most about the world around them. Books play a vital role in building the foundations for learning, and exposure to quality books from an early age helps to develop an enquiring mind and a lifelong love of reading. Child's Play has a history of creating innovative, award-winning books for children from 0-8 years that promote learning through play – books that fully reflect our diverse society in terms of heritage, disability, gender and family. Child's Play books are loved by parents, teachers and, most importantly, children all over the world. |
