'Social Mindfulness' explains how we create a sense of self in relationship to others. Mindfulness practice enables us to diffuse the sense of a separate self and work with others in the service of collective interests. The book acts as a support to Mindfulness-Based Organisational Education (MBOE) as well as explaining the theory that underpins 'social mindfulness'. The book may also be used as a self-study guide.

Included with this book is access to streamable and downloadable guided meditations - for mobile, tablet & desktop.

About the Author:

Director at Mindfulness Connected, Mark Leonard has been building new teaching approaches – from a therapy to systemic change – with many years of experience in mindfulness. He helped establish the Oxford Mindfulness Centre (OMC), and was Champion of the OMC ‘Mindfulness in the Workplace’ Project. Prior to this, Mark worked in fisheries and waste resources management. His experience led him to suspect there were systemic causes to increasing rates of stress related mental illness and patterns of unsustainable consumption. He has worked on evidence-based approaches and developed a new 'Social Mindfulness' program.

Mark's talk at A Mindful Society in 2020, Understanding Social Mindfulness and Why this Matters, explains why social mindfulness is needed to make a better world. He has posted an updated version of the talk here .
