There are many things that we do with friends and family. What are some activities that you do with your friends and family? Terri Mack, Kay Kwee Kway Kwa, is a member of the Da'naxda'xw Awaetlala Nation. Terri has worked within Aboriginal Education for 20 years, 17 within the public system of Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District and most recently on reserve with Stz'uminus First Nation as the Community Literacy Coordinator for the past 3 years. During her career within education, 16 of those years have been dearly dedicated to literacy initiatives around the province of B.C., having worked in partnership with SFU, VIU, and many school districts. Bill spent most of his career, which started in 1979, carving traditional Tsimshian wood carving, jewellery and paintings. His art has evolved from creating large wood projects such as a 40 foot long Ravensong Canoe in 1993 and working on the world’s tallest totem pole with Richard Krentz in 1994, to illustrating children’s story books and working on many animation projects. Other projects include working with NASA and the Canadian Space Agency to design three mission patches as well as some education materials. Currently Bill is working on many new projects which include working with Strong Nations to illustrate many of our new resources. |
