People talk about the word “psychosis”, but how does one truly understand what one is unless they have experienced it? This book allows the reader to have that experience by seeing see the thought process that leads up to and becomes fully immersed into one. This is not a clinical book. This is a story. A true story. The reader first meets me at day three of no sleep. In total, I go seven days without sleeping. While waiting for a bus in Red Deer, Alberta and on route to Grande Prairie to be with my sister and her family, I am walking the streets and stumble into a native homeless shelter. Suspense rises as I spend a day with a man named Allan, who is a homeless crack addict. The reader is shown my thoughts and behaviour in the beginning stages of what will become a complete break from reality. I think I am saving Allan. My girlfriend is filled with concern and worry as I tell her through text what I am up to. She wants me to stay at the bus station and wait for my bus, but I have other plans. Travel with me through this 7 day excursion that eventually leads to a break from reality and into a world where I am willing to die for my family in order to save them.
